YouTube does not usually offer a download link for its videos, and intends that they are viewed through its website interface. A small number of videos, such as the weekly addresses by President Barack Obama, can be downloaded as MP4 files. There are also third-party web sites, applications and browser plug-ins that offer a way to get a download link for all videos on the website.

In February 2009, YouTube announced a test service, allowing some partners to offer video downloads for free or for a fee paid through Google Checkout.

Ok, ok we know there are hundreds of people out there that have found ways of downloading videos from YouTube but people still go around asking for more advice on how to download videos the best way possible and even if possible how to extract audio. There are two ways you can download a video from Youtube.

1. From a Website and
2. Directly from a Software Application

Now as I know more than you, I know for a fact that the Website option is completely useless. Its A. A really annoyingly long procedure for just downloading a video, B. requires you to wait for processing time which is really indefinite because it can take real long to say if you were to download one of the Youtube movies and C. No flexibility, you have to rely on the website to do your conversion and you cant specify exactly what you want out of your video.

Ok in second position, comes this software. The thing is, its a bit of a longer process getting to your videos So you'll have to learn the functions a bit to get used to it but the thing is, it does what you need it to do and is pretty error free at doing it too.

This is anotherone from the Legendary Xilisoft Corporation. With all their great Multimedia Products, they cant go wrong can they? But well something for free from a private Corporation will always lack in something and it does. But it is still a great try out because it is also error free.

The Mozilla Firefox Method: If you are using the Firefox Browser, you'll see that there are loads of addons for downloading videos from Youtube. Well Easy Video Downloader is by far the best. It has HD downloading capabilities, will always work unlike other addons and actually integrates itself onto Youtube once installed! But then again, dont expect gold from just a Firefox addon!
